Being Single Doesn’t Have To Suck! Pros + Cons List

“Just Because I’m Single Doesn’t Mean I Sleep Alone…I Share The Other Half Of The Bed With The Pile Of Laundry I’m Too Lazy To Put Away.”

Long time no see! How is everyone doing today? I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend! I am super excited to finally be done with my homework…at least for now. I may have pulled a couple of all nighters this week to get a 7 page essay & a 17 slide power point presentation done. Procrastination at its finest! You could give me a year to do an assignment and I would still choose to leave it til the last day. I don’t know why but I use pressure as my motivation. Anyone else?..

I guess you could say this post is a mix of ranting as well as a little entertainment! This is purely just for some fun & hopefully you can possibly learn something from this post. Just thought I would make an interesting blog post today talking about relationships. Who said being single couldn’t be fun? In my opinion, it’s more fun than being in a relationship. (I’m sorta just guessing.) Well, I thought I would share my opinions on the pros & cons of being single. I enjoyed making this post so let’s get on with it!!

“I Like Being Single. I’m Always There When I Need Me.”

Pros Of Being Single:

-Not having to share my food. I don’t have to constantly share my food all the time. Sometimes I just wanna have a burger & large fries to myself…is that too much to ask?

-Can get as much sleep not having to worry about anything. Sleep is a very valuable thing!

-More freedom & Independence. You are free to go out where ever you want without having to think about it. You can start a new hobby like photography, or cooking.

-More Money For You. Saving money is never a bad idea. More money for you to spend on food, clothes, shoes……food…

-More time on your hands. To do things you love such as exercise, volunteer, work, travel, explore, read, write.

-You Can focus on yourself. You don‘t have to be dependent on anyone else. You focus on you..and build a better you. Do things that will benefit you later. Focus on school, work

Just because you’re single, doesn’t mean there’s anything wrong with you. It just means you haven’t found the right person yet. You don’t have to be reliant on anybody but yourself. You are in charge of your own happiness.

Cons Of Being Single

Hmmm I can’t think of any! Being single is pretty ideal in my opinion.

What are some things that are perfect to do alone?? Well….

-Order Take-Out: Can’t go wrong with some Chinese Food
-Buy Some Chocolate: Anything with caramel & milk chocolate
-Relax & A Movie: Watching TV Shows until 4 in the morning & finishing the whole series in 3 days.
-Trying New Looks: Experimenting & trying out new makeup or new clothes.

Focus on your career and what you want to do first before you start a relationship. What do you want to accomplish in life? Don’t start a relationship until you’re ready. Don’t do it because all of your friends have a date or a special someone that they always take pictures of and post it on Instagram for everyone to see. Most of these “relationships” are fake anyways right 😉

“I’ve Been Single For A While And I Have To Say, It’s Going Very Well. Like….It’s Working Out. I Think I’m The One.”

Just thought I would show you some things I did last weekend! I went to the Crack Shack & had some Mexican Poutine with fried chicken & french fries. And boy was it super delicious and yummy! If you’re ever in California, I recommend giving this place a try!

If you have any more pros & cons of being single let me know in the comments below! Would love to hear all of your ideas so I can add to the list! See you on Friday with all new post!

For The People That Suck Up & Spread Gossip! Rant #3

_DSC0947.JPGWelcome to my third rant in this series! I hope everyone had a great Christmas & spent it with lots of friends and family. Today I thought I would get some things off my chest & write some things on this subject..I hope this helps some people that are currently going through this or may eventually go through this. I’m going through a similar situation & really wanted to write my thoughts on this subject. Hope yall enjoy & have an amazing New Year’s.

Gossip is the 6 letter word that can destroy a friendship or any type of relationship. Honestly, I feel like everyone has said something about someone at least once in your life. Whether it was about someone that drove you nuts, or even someone that you felt jealous about. Trust me, we’ve all done it! I believe that the consequences and how hurtful it can be never really hits you until you or someone you know directly goes through it. You can physically & mentally see how it affects this person, the sadness or even the hurtfulness that they feel when someone decides to talk about them in a terrible manner. Why is it that people think it’s okay to talk bad about others when they are gone and act like their best friends to their face?

Why can’t some people suck it up and actually talk to the person face to face…why do we have to gossip about them? Is there really nothing else better to do? If someone isn’t doing something correctly why do people have to make fun of them and humiliate them in front of others?

With my personality, when I hear someone has been talking about me….I think I would almost rather not know. I can’t sleep or do anything. I have a tendency to overreact to things like this (that’s an understatement). I usually have to do things to get my mind off of the really sucks in all of your emotions and drains the way you feel. I usually take a bath & listen to my music very loudly. It also puts you in such an awkward situation when someone gossips to you about someone else. What are you supposed to don’t agree with what they’re saying but you don’t know how to remove yourself from the situation. Gossip & drama is can’t get rid of it but you can certainly deal with it..just like most things in life.

Your Support System

Family, Friends, …it’s the best thing when you can come home & talk to people who have your back!

Dealing With It

One day people will trash talk and spread rumors about you & the next day when they see you they will be your best friend & suck up to you whether its at school, work, or at another event. Asking the person what’s the reasoning in spreading gossip. Letting them know that if they have a problem with something that you do..don’t talk to others about it..tell it to me so that we can fix it.

Sometimes you may have to get further help from other people.

Personally, maturity and insecurity has to do with a lot of it. Many people do it to make themselves feel better. It shows the real personality of someone who continues to gossip & make fun of others. “The person that gossips to you, gossips about you.” Be careful who you call a “friend” because not everyone is.

Like I said, it’s practically impossible to not be around gossip when you are always around people. There are some ways that you can remove yourself from these types of situations. Removing yourself from putting your messages on silent or getting rid of your notifications. If you’re at school focus on school work & homework. At work, you’re there for one thing-to work. Do your job, finish your tasks, & clock out for the day. Try not to involve yourself in any of the drama going on. Remember, be careful who you call a “friend.” Some people will say that they care for you and are here for you, but when the time comes..will they stand up for you?

Thank you so much for reading! I hope you enjoyed this 3rd rant in my series! I hope everyone has an amazing New Year! Don’t forget to make a new list of goals for you to accomplish this new & up-coming year!

What is on your list of things to accomplish as the new year rolls in?

Don’t Have Time For Haters! Rant #2

Today, I’m going to be doing Rant #2. The topic I’m doing is “Dealing with Haters.” I believe this rant can help someone in the future, if you ever go through this or something like this. Here are some options that you can do if you are going through this.

#1 Respond Back

Wait! You get a message or hear someone talking smack about you. You are in the heat of the moment..don’t respond back so quickly. Don’t say anything you are going to regret later. I don’t know how many times I lay at night till 6 AM wide awake thinking about how I just responded back to someone…if I should have said it in a different way or not have said it at all. I start drenching in sweat, over-thinking  everything & instantly regretting what I did or should have done. So..learn from me, wait a couple of hours or even a day if you’re going to reply back. Ask yourself, do they even deserve a response or are they trying to get you to spark & lose your cool? Don’t give them that! When writing, write graciously and civil. Get someone to read your message too before posting it.

“You’ve got enemies? Good, that means you actually stood up for something in your life.”

Winston Churchill

#2 Use It As Motivation

I’m pretty sure everyone gets haters, even the nicest person in the world. Why not use it as motivation? In this rant, I hope you don’t think I’m coming across as “All Hate Is Bad.” Because sometimes it’s not-it can be used as a push or an encourager to some people. The doubters are people who don’t want to see you make it, don’t want to see you become successful in life. I actually have a challenge for you…Make a Motivational Board. There are so many on Pinterest. If someone says something negative about you write it down on a sticky note & glue it onto your board. Use it to look back on & prove them wrong.

“There will be Haters, There will be Doubters, There will be Non-Believers, and Then there will be You, Proving them Wrong”

#3 Ignore Them

Just avoid getting into any conflict. Don’t respond..pretend you didn’t even read it. Don’t let it phase you or stop you from chasing your dreams, just keep going. I have to admit though, ignoring it is probably one of the hardest things to do..because all you want to do is go off on them & confront them. Don’t lose sleep over this, or be concerned by the opinions of others. Because that’s all it is..opinions.

“A tiger doesn’t lose sleep over the opinion of sheep”

#4 Start clearing your “friend list”

Start getting rid of people on your friends list. It makes me a little sad when I see people trying to please everyone they come across. It’s technically impossible to have everyone like you for who are. That’s why we have decisions to make when it comes to having friends. Choose friends that are going to be there for you when times get rough. Honestly who cares about if you have more followers than another person. How do you know if someone is your actual friend? Do they only need you when they have a problem? As life goes on, we learn & find who our true friends are..who stood up for you when you weren’t there.

“If you’re not losing friends, you’re not growing up”

I appreciate all the comments on my last rant post. People really connected with it & I’m hoping you can connect with this rant too. Thank you for listening! Have a blessed Memorial Day.

Being Called SHY OR QUIET! Rant #1

Screen Shot 2017-07-01 at 10.36.02 PM.png

Happy Friday to all of my followers. Cheers to the weekend. Today, I’ve decided to start my new series on Infoella called “Rants.” I’m going to be talking about “Shyness and Being Called Quiet.” This topic has been bugging me for a couple of years now & has inspired me to write this new series. 🙂 So let’s get on with this post….

Elementary School was a rough time. I didn’t talk to the other kids, as I kept silent for the whole year. I only talked to family. There would be times where I would have to whisper in my teachers ear for show & tell and she would just repeat what I said to the class.

As I grew older, I don’t think I changed drastically. However I talked in class, but that was only when the teacher called on me. I was always freaked out when the teacher would pass out rubrics for class presentations because that meant I had to talk in front of 35 students. Even to this day, I still get nervous when ever I have to do a presentation. But honestly, who really likes having everyone stare at your every move while you talk for 15 minutes or how ever long your presentation is? I’m guessing not too many people.

I always got my class schedule on the day before school. When I got my schedule I was really confused. My paper was clearly printed, DRAMA CLASS PERIOD 4. Uh, Drama? When I chose my schedule, cooking class was my first choice, as I was expecting that to be on there. Apparently, my counselor selected me to be in Drama Class. Why?? I really have no idea.  First thing I did was go see my counselor and asked her to please change it. I remember her telling me “I’m sorry Tonee, I can’t switch it. Unless someone wants to switch classes with you, since every class is full.” I tried to find someone who would switch classes with me. I tried anything and everything so that I didn’t have to partake in Drama Class. At this point I had no idea what to do..I’m not an actress, I don’t like talking & especially not acting in front of an audience. As much as I called the office & went to each & every counselor to change it, there was nothing they could do. I eventually just sucked it up & faced the reality that I couldn’t switch classes. The first day I went to drama class, he made us go on a computer and look for Shakespeare monologues to print out & then eventually present/act them out loud. (Of course, the first day had to be Shakespeare monologues…we couldn’t have just received a syllabus & gotten the first day over with.) A couple of weeks into Drama Class, we presented the monologues we chose and I was the last person to go. All I can say is…I did it. 72 eye balls staring at every movement & every word I said. I just learned to block everyone out as I was saying it. The quote below I added is so true. Do something each day that’s out of your comfort zone. It’ll help with confidence and help you reach new accomplishments.

“Do One Thing Every Day That Scares You!”

Eleanor Roosevelt

When it was time for yearbook signing on the last day of school, a random person came up to me and said “Stop being so shy! Why are you always so quiet?” …Being shy isn’t something you can get rid of overnight. It ‘aint no one time thing. You can’t just tell someone to “stop being shy” & boom that solves it. For many people, it can affect the confidence of themselves. I wish some people would take it more seriously. One thing that really irks me is when someone comes up to me, like a teacher or someone who I’ve just met saying that I should stop being so quiet or that I should talk more. It really drives me nuts! They don’t take the time to get to know me. They just think automatically that because I’m quiet-I’m boring or not fun-wrong!

It’s kinda funny though, whenever I’m actually with my good friends now, I can’t stop talking. I talk about food, life, school, everything!

“Don’t underestimate me because I’m quiet. I know more than I say, think more than I speak, and observe more than you know.”

Michaela Chung

“Be an encourager. The world has plenty of critics already.”
